Yesterday, the office of the Moscow Abkhaz diaspora had a warm and informative conversation with Abkhaz Foreign Minister Oleg Msasovich Bartsits and his delegation. The guest arrived immediately after an official meeting with Sergei Lavrov, where the parties discussed a wide range of bilateral issues - from economic projects to coordination of foreign policy.

During his communication with compatriots, the Minister paid special attention to:
 - social payments for citizens of Abkhazia who also have Russian citizenship;
 - the order of military registration of Abkhazian students in Russia;
 - support for youth and launching new educational programs;
 - work of the Foreign Ministry in Latin America, where steps are being taken to expand recognition of the republic.

In a separate block Bartsits spoke about the latest rounds of Geneva discussions: the Abkhazian side once again insisted that Georgia should sign a legally binding agreement on the non-use of force - without this, the minister emphasized, long-term security of the region is impossible.

“Cooperation between Russia and the Republic of Abkhazia is of a global, comprehensive nature, and we see how the most urgent issues are being resolved literally ‘from the wheels’”, - Oleg Bartsits noted, adding that a strong and democratic Abkhazia meets the interests of both Sukhum and Moscow.

The main conclusion of the meeting is that the Russian Federation is openly interested in the sustainable development of Abkhazia as an independent State and is ready to promptly assist in solving specific problems of its citizens - from social guarantees to international recognition.
