Statement by the Moscow Abkhaz Diaspora

Share

Dear compatriots,

We, the board of the Moscow Abkhazian Diaspora, categorically condemn the call voiced in the speech of Apollon Shinkuba, member of the Council of Elders of Abkhazia.

The upcoming elections are not only an opportunity to express our will, but also the responsibility of each of us for the future of our country.

In this regard, we urge all headquarters and their supporters to refrain from any calls for violence and appeal to all candidates to openly express their position on this speech.
We also ask all candidates to refrain from using dubious information technologies that can distort the real picture of public opinion and undermine confidence in the electoral process.

As our great writer and thinker Fazil Iskander said:

“Politics is the art of the possible, but it must be based on honesty and respect for people.” We call on all political headquarters and candidates to conduct an honest electoral struggle within the law. Transparency and fairness in the electoral process are fundamental to strengthening the democratic foundations of our society. We hope that all participants in the elections will adhere to ethical standards and respect the right of citizens to free choice.

Let us together do our best to ensure that our elections are held in an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect.

Regards,
Board of the Moscow Abkhazian Diaspora
