On June 6, our compatriots, writer Vladimir Delba, Co-Chairman of the Literary Council of WOW and Master's student of the National Research University of Moscow State University Osman Zekir-ogly took part in the opening of the poetry flash mob "The Classic of World Literature A. S. Pushkin", timed to the 225th anniversary of the poet's birthday.
As part of the program our compatriots presented a poem by Alexander Pushkin called "Flower" ("Ashәҭ"), translated into Abkhazian language by the People's Poet of Abkhazia Bagrat Shinkuba. Representatives of Abkhazia told their colleagues that Pushkin's work is highly revered in Abkhazia and his works are translated to this day.
The event was organized by the Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia and Africa and the World Organization of Writers WOW.
The event brought together specialists from the field of literature and linguistics from the CIS, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and the Arab region.
At the end of the event, the organizers announced the beginning of an international competition for translations of Pushkin's works, in which Abkhazian specialists were encouraged to participate.
And within the framework of the 10th Red Square Book Festival pupils of the Sunday School of the Abkhazian language at the Embassy of Abkhazia in Moscow Diana and Sofia Lapshina, daughters of our compatriot Angelika Tsishba, performed.
From the children's group "Ethnoproject Moscow" Diana and Sofia demonstrated reading of passages from Eugene Onegin in Abkhazian, translated by the People's Poet of Abkhazia Mushniy Lasuria.
