On 10 April, the Pushkin Literary Museum hosted a memorial evening dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the outstanding poet and prose writer Fazil Iskander.
The evening gathered many spectators and participants, among whom were writer Evgeny Popov, prose writer and playwright Anatoly Kim, theatre artist Boris Messerer, writer Denis Chachkhalia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Abkhazia to Russia Alkhas Kvitsinia and many others.
The creative evening was attended by the writer's family - his wife Antonina and children Marina and Alexander.
The decoration of the evening was the performance of Iskander's RUSDRAMA and Abkhazian students of the Shchepkin Theatre Institute with excerpts from Iskander's plays and poetic works.
The evening was initiated and organised by the Moscow Abkhaz Diaspora. As Beslan Agrba, Head of the Moscow Abkhazian Diaspora noted: "This evening is an attempt to show a modern story of existence of the classic's works in today's Abkhazia, through the eyes and lips of a new, younger generation.
