
Dear compatriots! December 18 Moscow Abkhaz Diaspora will held a memorial evening dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of writer Konstantin Mikhailovich Simonov. Konstantin Simonov, took an active part in social and cultural life of Abkhazia. His work is reflected in the book "Simonov in Abkhazia", published in Sukhum. The famous Russian writer, poet, social activist for several years lived in Abkhazia at his county house in Gulripsh, a suburb of Sukhum, where he wrote his work, rested, received guests, among whom were Pablo Neruda, Tvardovsky and other prominent figures, his Abkhazian friends and acquaintances: Georgy Gulia, Shalva Inal-Ipa, Ivan Tarba. A friendship with Bagrat Shinkuba altogether resulted in a literary collaboration of Konstantin Simonov and poet and translator Iakov Kozlowski who translated into Russian historical novel of Abkhaz writer's "Last of the Departed." Host of the evening - a writer Chachhalia D. People closed to Konstantin Simonov, well-known writers will attend the evening. The evening will feature excerpts of writer’s works; photo exhibition will be presented with previously unknown photographs from the personal archive Chachhalia D., performance of Alisa Gitsba (soprano), soloist of the Helikon Opera, People's Artist of Abkhazia, Honored Artist of Russia. The evening dedicated to the memory of Konstantin Simonov will take place in Moscow, at the Museum of the Silver Age. Date and time: December 18, beginning at 18:00.
