Dear compatriots! Congratulations on the Azhyrnyhua holiday! Azhyrnyhua - the day of creation. According to scientists, it is more than two thousand years. This is a family, a generic holiday, which is associated with the deity of the forge and blacksmith. Cult forge existed in Abkhazia from time immemorial. Forge was in almost every home and was considered as a sacred place in which all prayed. Holiday Azhyrnyhua carried out with the sunset. On this day, a senior in the family says a prayer to God, asking for the welfare of the family and of all family members. He asks the Almighty to protect them from harm on the road or at home, as well as all the iron weapons, an ax. It is assumed that in this day in Abkhaz family’s slaughtered roosters for each family member, a goat. The oldest man in the family strings pieces of boiled liver and heart on a small spit of nuts tree, pouring homemade wine, prays to God, asks for blessings, health and happiness to all the family and close relatives.
