Dear compatriots! From all my heart I congratulate you on the Victory Day! May 9 - the day of our common memory, the day of the great feats that will always live in our hearts and will forever remain in history! During the Great Patriotic War, Abkhazia sent to fight for their homeland for more than fifty-five thousand people. And in August 1942, Nazi troops invaded the Republic limits. The first fight with the German elite "Edelweiss" in the village of Gudauta Pskhu took soldiers of the battalion. September p it was released, and already in the beginning of 1943 the German troops were driven out of Abkhazia. Dear friends! Today we bow our heads in memory of victims, the memory of those who are no longer with us. Over seventeen thousand sons and daughters of Abkhazia did not return home, always remained for us a symbol of courage and true heroism. On this great day, I want to appeal to our veterans - veterans, home front workers, prisoners of Nazi camps, I want to express to you my sincere and heartfelt gratitude for your great feat, for your steadfastness and fortitude! You are our pride and an example to follow in the love of his native country, unity and dedication, in reciprocity, responsibility for those who are close. Good health and long life to you! Happy holiday, dear compatriots! Happy Victory Day!
