Congratulations to the defenders of our homeland. We wish them good health and a good service to Abkhazia. October 11, 1992 Vladislav Ardzinba signed a decree on the establishment of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff. This date is officially the Day of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Abkhazia - the birthday of the Abkhaz army. The armed forces of Abkhazia are subordinate to the Ministry of Defense of Abkhazia and consist of ground forces, air force and navy. Throughout its history, the armed forces of Abkhazia have the difficult share- involved in several wars: the South Ossetian war and the Georgian-Abkhazian war. Powerful and a modern army for the people is an integral part, which guarantees the existence of our independent state.
