Eshba Nelly

Nelly first professional director, the first woman lawyer in Abkhazia - September 25th 1928- March 5 2015 She graduated from the Moscow Institute of Law, after which worked as a lawyer in Sukhum, Tbilisi and then in the legal advice. Seven years later, she abandoned the legal profession and devoted herself to theater. She graduated with honors from Tbilisi Theatre Institute. In 1961 Nelly Eshba was invited to be the chief director of the Abkhaz Drama Theatre. Because of differences in the theater, she was forced to leave it. In 1963-1964, she held an internship at the famous Leningrad Bolshoi Drama Theater. In 1964, she was invited to the State Russian Theatre in Tbilisi, where she worked until 1968. In 1968, Nelly Eshba returned to Abkhazian Drama Theatre. In 1974 was invited to the post of chief director and artistic director of the Astrakhan Drama Theatre. He staged plays in theaters in Ryazan, Kemerovo, Barnaul, Smolensk, Ordzhonikidze. In 1979, he creates his own theater studio "Time".
